Establishing a strong base

Promotion and Display Technology Ltd (PDT) was founded in 1988 in Manchester, UK. We started life manufacturing and trading moving message signs with a joint venture factory in Shenzhen China. Once our strong manufacturing base had been established, we moved into the fixed line telephone business, expanding our business sufficiently to become one of the major suppliers of telephone hardware to British Telecom (BT).

Evolving our services

Over the years we have continued to evolve our in-house product development and design capabilities. We have developed a variety of innovative products - both for well-known names and our own brands.

In 1999 we launched the world’s first Skype phone. Combining full integration with the Skype software and a user interface that made the product understandable, the phone made VoIP calls accessible to the average consumer and created the market for VoIP peripherals.

In recent years we have moved towards a brand licensee and contract manufacturing model, using our multiple areas of expertise to both develop products and to manufacture completed designs for our clients. We have worked on contract manufacturing projects for companies such as Google and Easy Group. We also hold the exclusive global brand licence for HP VoIP products; from producing concept roadmaps, to full product development and arranging sales and distribution.

An established skill base

Today PDT has a wide and established skill base. In addition to long-term brand co-operation projects, we take on a diverse range of projects using a range of skills; from design and manufacturing, to sales and distribution.
